My Fifth Grade Year
As we leave fifth grade I think back on all the fun and hard times we have had! Whether it be the STAAR test or Field Day it still makes me start to smile! I’m really going to miss my teachers and hopefully they will miss me too! The years 2016-2017 were awesome! I hope all the friends I have now will be true friends and stay with me through middle school, even though sometimes there can be a lot of drama we still normally always find a way to be friends again. I’m really excited to go to middle school I think it will be a lot of fun with a lot more freedom then we do in 5th grade, but it was still a great year! And a big thanks to all my friends who have made this school year great I don’t want to name any because I don’t want to accidently miss any! This overall has been a great year!! I’m so excited for middle school and beyond!!!

Gold Rush
R.I.P Captain
One day I came home from school like a normal day and my family and I were sitting in our living room. My dog was outside getting sick. So my mom and step dad decided to take him to the vet. I begged for them to let me go and they finally said ok. When we got there my step dad and the animal doctors went into the surgery while my mom and I sat in the waiting room. My mom was able to stop crying but i was still crying my head off! After sitting there for about 30 minutes I remembered one of the guys coming out ans asking us “Do you want us to try to keep him alive or put him down?” We both practically yelled “Save Him!” Later one of the guys came out again and handed us his collar. On the way home the car was completely silent except for my small cries I would have. R.I.P Captain.
Child Labor
The first story was about three girls working in a factory with all the doors locked. They were in their room working when they saw a fire they thought it was one of the machines but it turns out the entire building was on fire so they tried to get out the door but could not so they jumped out the window but all died.
The second story was about a reporter who went and talked to some kids who work in factories and she asked there age and what they do and how long they have worked there and all that type of information.
What I thought: I’m really happy that we were able to find a way out of having kids work in places like that where they feel like they were in child jail. Since all of that is gone we can now have the proper teaching and the kids won’t have to be the ones who supplies the family with money. It also stopped a lot of children from being burned to death or jumping to their death.
