A Rainy Day
Finally it started to rain. Later we got soaked, after that we ran into the building. Now the thunder and lightning lasted for hours.
The Capture of Fort Ticonderoga
On the early morning of May 10,1775 at Fort Ticonderoga, Benedict Arnold of Massachusetts joined Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain boys of Vermont in an early attack on the fort, surprising and capturing the sleeping British garrison and their belongings. Even though it was a small conflict, the Battle of Fort Ticonderoga was the first American victory of the Revolutionary War. That is why some people like to remember that small battle! The commander for Great Britain was Captain William DeLaPlace and the commanders for the US colonies were Benedict Arnold and Ethan Allen. The Great Britain had 78 force and the US colonies had 1 captured and 168 force. Some people believe that they walked up to the fort and commander Ethan Allen said to the guards come out “By the name of Great Jehovah and the Continental Congress.” Then they walked in and took things from the British garrison and then walked out.
